John Rogers is an Instructor of Entrepreneurship at Louisiana State University. His
teaching focuses on innovation, venture development, and strategic decision-making
under uncertainty, with an emphasis on applying core concepts to real-world contexts
through case-based learning and project-driven coursework.
Before entering academia, he co-founded and led multiple ventures in West Africa across
construction, agriculture, service-learning tourism, and mining. He also served as
Director of Operations for a faculty-founded medical device startup at the University
of Mississippi. These experiences inform his teaching, particularly around operating
in resource-constrained and uncertain environments.
Teaching & Research Interests: Entrepreneurship, strategy, and innovation; with a focus on how entrepreneurs make
decisions under uncertainty, entrepreneurial storytelling, and the role of constraints
in venture development. Additional interests include social and environmental entrepreneurship
and family business.
