Global Engagement Spotlight: Kranti Meher

It's time for another spotlight from our incredible global community! Today we're highlighting Kranti Meher, a PhD student in LSU's biological sciences department and a campus leader.

 

Originally from India, Kranti became interested in LSU because of the exciting research opportunities in her field. Her passion is exploring how technology like 3D bioprinting can revolutionize diagnosis and treatment for neurodegenerative disorders and skincare. Ultimately, it was LSU's supportive environment that helped her finalize her decision. "Recognizing that a PhD journey is a significant commitment, I prioritized finding a supportive and empathetic mentor," Kranti says. "In this regard, I couldn't have landed in a more fitting environment; my advisor exceeds all expectations, providing kindness, understanding, and unwavering support."

 

Now, as a student leader, Kranti is helping others experience that culture of support. She has served in a leadership role within the Indian Student Association and has worked closely with the Global Community Center staff to host student events. Kranti says that "supporting my peers in this capacity brought me a sense of fulfillment and joy, serving as a reminder of the importance of community and shared goals."
