Installment Plans
At Louisiana State University, students can manage educational expenses by paying tuition over the course of several months, rather than in one lump sum. This way, students can make manageable monthly payments with no associated interest charges. To enroll in an Installment Plan, students will be assessed a $60 non-refundable service charge per term. By partnering with Transact, we will be able to offer more installments per semester and auto-pay for installment payments.
Please keep in mind, financial aid will not apply toward the down payment. Instead, it will apply towards the entire balance prior to installment payment amount determination. The Installment Plan balance must be paid in full before the last day of classes for the term in which the student is enrolled, or the student will not be able to complete registration for future terms. Graduating Seniors must also take into consideration that balances must be paid in full approximately two weeks before the graduation date.
Eligibility
All students are eligible for an initial installment plan. Subsequent plans are based on the completion of previous installment plans. Please note that failure to pay installment payments will negatively impact eligibility for future installment plans as two installment plans cannot run concurrently.
How to Enroll in a Transact Installment Plan
On Workday, navigate to the Financials Hub, then select the "Make a Payment" option. Once on the Transact website, navigate to the payment plan tab. After reviewing the available options, select the desired payment plan. Please note, the installment plan will not be active until the first payment and enrollment fee have been paid.
Payment Plan Options
The university offers two (2) payment plans for the Spring semester tuition and fees. There is a $60 non-refundable enrollment fee for all payment plans. The payment plan options for the Spring Semester will be as follows:

50% down, remaining 50% spread over three payments*

34% down, remaining 66% spread over three payments*
*Three payments are due February 1, March 1, and April 1. If payment is not received by the 11th of the month, a 5% late fee is assessed.
The university offers a payment plan for LSU Online tuition and fees. There is a $60 non-refundable enrollment fee for all payment plans.
- 50% down, remaining 50% payable 21 days after the 1st day of class*
*If payment is not received by the 25th day after the 1st day of class, a 5% late fee is assessed.
Beginning Summer 2025, the university will offer an installment plan through Transact for tuition and fees. There is a $60 non-refundable enrollment fee for all installment plans.

Please note if the student agrees to the terms and conditions of the installment plan option, there are no extensions available.
